In addition to the healthcare opportunities for medical professionals, above, St. Marys is ideally located halfway between two major growing cities. Financial services, higher education, technology startups and defense contracting are some of the growth industries.

-The ports of Brunswick, GA and Jacksonville, FL are busily expanding container ship operations to accommodate foreign container ship traffic and preparing for the widening of the Panama Canal. Operations and logistics management will be needed. Carnival Cruise lines is leading the effort to build a cruise terminal in Mayport to serve this area for Caribbean destinations. The  user-friendly Jacksonville airport (JIA) is planning to build a new terminal.

-The US Navy and related support groups are expanding in the Kings Bay Naval Submarine Base with the arrival of the USS Georgia, USS Florida and the USS Alaska. In nearby Mayport, FL, the Mayport Naval Station has begun to gear up for the arrival of the aircraft carrier USS George H. W. Bush (currently under construction) and it’s air wing.

-The Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) is located just to our east near Brunswick, GA. Their employees and consultants have found it an easy commute from St. Marys and have chosen to live here and end their workday in peace, quiet and recreational pursuits.
